Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop artists: one who was able to successfully cross the divide between pop and country music, conquering the globe. Swift shed country like it was an additional layer of herself, proving that she's possibly the most intelligent pop singer/songwriter of her time. One who can harness the zeitgeist to make it personal and also be able to perform at the opposite. The skills she displayed were apparent on her first hits, particularly the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out who she was and in the process finding an audience of mass. Fearless was successful not only in the United States, having six platinum-certified songs. The Top Ten songs Love Story & I Belong with Me were the primary reasons behind this. But, it also did exceptionally well throughout the world. Swift's second album, Speak Now, released almost two years after the debut, further consolidated this success. It helped propel Swift to superstardom. Swift's popularity grew throughout her three subsequent albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in the genre she was a part of. When she reduced her sound by releasing stripped-down albums like 2020, Folklore, and Evermore but she was still at the top. This position was maintained through re-recordings of her previous catalogue as along with Midnights, her synth-heavy chart-topping 2022 album.
